Record a lesson or an assessment
Log memorization or revision with a Quran passage, or a scored assessment by subject in a graded program, and add a note.

Progress is recorded from Progress, from a student's record (Record progress, or Record assessment in a graded program) or from a row's menu. The same dialog is used everywhere. What it asks for depends on the student's program type: a Quran program records lessons, a graded program records assessments. See Set up programs.
Steps
- In a Quran program, choose Record progress. The Record progress dialog opens.
- Pick the Student. When you start from a student's record this is already set.
- Choose the Lesson type: Memorization for new material, Revision for reviewing earlier material.
- Choose the Lesson: Quran passage or Other lesson.
- For a Quran passage, pick the Surah (search by name or number), then From ayah and To ayah. Whole surah selects every ayah at once.
- For another lesson, type its name in Lesson name, for example Qaida, lesson 8.
- Check the Date, choose a Result and add Notes (optional) such as what to work on next.
- Choose Save progress. The page confirms with Progress recorded.
Assessments in a graded program
- In a graded program, choose Record assessment and pick the Student.
- Pick the Subject from the program's list and check the Date.
- Name the Assessment, for example Chapter 3 quiz.
- Enter the Score and what it was Out of, for example 18 out of 20. Decimals are accepted; the score cannot exceed the maximum.
- Add Notes (optional) and choose Save progress.
The entry is saved as Mathematics · Chapter 3 quiz with the result 18 / 20 · 90%. There is no lesson type or passage for an assessment, and the result is always the score.
Results

Notes
Notes are visible to staff with access to the student. Parents see the lesson, passage, subject, score and result, but not the note. Use notes for guidance on what the student should work on next.
Picking a passage
The surah list shows each surah's number, name and ayah count, for example 1 Al-Fatiha 7 ayahs. Use the arrow keys and Enter to choose from the keyboard. To ayah never drops below From ayah, and the dialog shows how many ayahs you selected. The saved lesson reads Al-Fatiha · Ayahs 1-7, or Al-Fatiha · Ayah 3 for a single ayah.
