Term report cards

One card per student and term: the term's figures, the teacher's comment, and a published copy the family can read and save as a PDF.

On this page

A report card summarizes one student's term. Open it from the Report cards list on the student's record, or from Student actions with Report card, which opens the current term. The card needs a term on the school calendar: its dates decide which lessons, assessments and attendance count.

What the card shows

  • Graded programs: Average score with the class average, Subjects assessed, Assessments and Attendance; one bar per subject with a tick at the class average and the difference beside it; attendance counts; the average by month; and every assessment in the term.
  • Quran programs: Ayahs memorized, Surahs completed, Lessons split into memorization and revision, and Attendance; a bar per surah touched this term; passages marked for revision; and every lesson in the term.
  • Teacher’s comment: free text up to 2000 characters, shown to the family beneath the figures.
  • Activity: who wrote the comment and who published the card, with times in the school's timezone.

The class average takes every assessment recorded for students currently in the program within the term dates, so it can move as classmates are assessed. Teacher notes on lessons are never part of the card.

Drafts and comments

Until a card is published it is a Draft: the figures follow the live records, so recording a late assessment updates it. Any teacher assigned to the program can write or change the comment with Add comment or Edit comment. The comment is saved as the card; nothing else about a draft is stored.

Publishing

  1. Check the figures and the comment on the draft.
  2. Choose Publish to family and confirm. Only administrators can publish.
  3. The figures freeze as they are at that moment, the status turns Published, and the card appears on the family's Family page and under Report cards on the child's record.

A published card does not change when records are edited afterwards, and its comment is locked. To correct it, an administrator chooses Take back: the family stops seeing the card, the figures return to the live records and the comment can be edited before publishing again. No email is sent when a card is published.

Printing and PDFs

Save as PDF and the print button open the browser's print dialog with the card alone on the page: no sidebar, actions or term chooser. Choose Save as PDF as the destination to keep a file. Families have the same buttons on a published card.

Why can I not open a report card?

The school has no terms yet. An administrator adds them in Calendar, and the student's record then lists one card per term.

Why does the card not show an assessment I recorded?

Its date falls outside the term, or the card is already published and shows the figures frozen at that time.
